Meet the Team

Pauline Millington, Practice Manager

Pauline has been with the firm since our inception and leads a dynamic administration function to support our advisers in the delivery of our mortgage & protection services.

Following a career change from NHS theatre nurse, Pauline has applied the same structured, organised approach in her leadership and wider, general practice management.  Her combined work experience has resulted in valuable insight and understanding of the underwriting requirements necessary to quickly and efficiently process the life assurance applications recommended for our clients.

Strong family values remain a constant as Pauline helps shape our growth and development.

Kelly Ramsay, Administration & Customer Services

Despite her youth, Kelly has now been with the firm for 10 years and her positive ‘can do’ energy is greatly appreciated. This, together with a calm and logical approach is consistent with the systems, controls & processes we operate in a busy ‘back office’.

Kelly is happily married and is the proud mum of two young boys both with the same birthdays! One of the lads is at the Manchester United Football Club Youth Academy – watch this space!

Dave Sale, Paraplanner

Dave joined us in 2007 to provide our advisers with technical support in respect of savings, investments, pensions and general retirement planning.

With 19 years industry experience, Dave spent 10 years with ‘the Royal’ in Liverpool as a Product Development Consultant (Marketing). In this role he was involved with all aspects of life & pension product ‘design’ from research to pricing and marketing.

In addition to this he also has wider employment experience through marketing, consultancy and technical support areas within property development, retail and IFA sectors.

Dave is a keen musician and has played bass guitar professionally in a number of bands. He enjoys most sports, with particular interest in golf, Formula 1 and Moto GP

Rob Hughes, Paraplanner

Since June 2007, Rob has provided technical & report writing support relating to all general areas of financial advice.

Rob graduated from Liverpool University in 1992 and (after a short time spent bottling whisky!!) started working with Royal Heritage in their fund pricing department. A short spell in unit trust dealing was followed in 1997 by a move to Liverpool to work at Royal & Sun Alliance as a bond administrator.  Wide and varied experience that is particularly relevant to the role now performed.

Rob is married and has three children (a daughter and twin boys), and has an interest in most sports, but particularly rugby, which takes up large parts of his weekend as both a spectator and a coach.

Rob has attained the Diploma level in Financial Planning, and is continuing his professional development as a paraplanner

Debbie Howarth , Accounts Administration

Debbie looks after the firm’s accounts systems and effectively holds the purse strings!

With a lifetime experience in book keeping, Debbie makes sure we maintain accurate records in the allocation of money in and money out.

Debbie supports our accountant, John Cooper. John is perhaps our most experienced team member and someone who has been with us since ‘Day One’. John is a member of the Association of Chartered Accountants and joined us having held senior Financial Director positions in other service related industries.

Richard Larkins, Financial Planner, Trusts & Estate Planning Specialist

Richard left university in 1981 to start his financial services career spending time with various life assurance companies before moving to Liverpool stockbroker – Neilson Cobbold as an independent financial adviser.

The 1996 takeover by Rathbones enabled Richard to specialise in advising clients referred to the firm by local accountants and solicitors.

Following a house move ‘across the water’ to the Wirral, we were delighted to welcome Richard to The Chester Partnership with most of his very loyal clients following.

A general financial planner, Richard also has a specialist interest in estate planning and investments for mainly retired clients. Where appropriate Richard will work very closely with clients’ lawyers in the creation and then maintenance of their plans.

Richard is married with two daughters and a granddaughter. He is a keen, but inconsistent golfer at Heswall and can often be found on the Wirral Way looking for stray balls!

Neil Cartwright, Financial Planner

Neil is one of our most experienced advisers and has spent much of his career advising our doctor and dentist clients.

Neil remains true to the fundamentals of financial planning and a Code of Ethics focused on securing the financial security of clients in the event of premature death or long term illness before considering their longer term wealth creation needs.

With a young family to keep him busy, Neil is still able to enjoy the odd game of golf (and anyone who’s played with Neil will confirm it is odd!) and is a keen skier whether in Scotland, the Alps – in fact anywhere there’s snow!

Perryn Edwards, Financial Planner & Later Life Planning Specialist

Now a veteran of 30+ years, Perryn started his career in the 1990’s with spells at both Commercial Union and Royal Sun Alliance, before joining Chester Partnership at our inception in 2000.

In addition to his general practitioner status, Perryn has developed a specialism in advising clients with regard to ‘later life’, or ‘3rd age’ issues.

With the Diploma in Investment Planning Perryn’s commitment to professional development includes working towards ‘Chartered’ status.

A Welshman by birth, Perryn is married and living in North Wales enjoys the freedom of the Welsh countryside. A sometimes Wrexham FC supporter and a music loving, record collecting geek – meet Perryn!

Richard Cavey, Financial Planner & Later Life Planning Specialist

More than 30 years providing advice & personal service gives Richard the experience and the knowledge to help clients with all of their financial planning needs.

A general practitioner, Richard has also developed a specialism working with clients ‘at retirement’ advising on their pension options, investments and where needed, consideration of releasing equity from their home.

A married man with a grown up family, Richard’s spare time is spent enjoying most sports, listening to music, reading and hill walking around the Lancashire & Yorkshire dales.

Richard also works with ‘Reach Out‘ – a mentoring charity supporting young people living in economically disadvantaged communities in the Greater Manchester and Oldham areas.  Quietly getting on with this, the great work Richard does with these 9 to 16 year olds was recently recognised by the charity with an “Outstanding Contribution Award” and “Platinum Mentor Award” (100 hours+ voluntary mentoring work).  From everyone associated with Chester Partnership – “Well done Richard”.

Keith Millington, Financial Planner & Director

Keith combines a role as the firm’s Finance Director whilst also maintaining his status as a general practitioner advising in all areas of financial planning.

Further, Keith works closely with our corporate clients advising scheme members on all aspects of their group pension and employee benefits.

With a meticulous attention to detail and the principle of TCF (Treating Customers Fairly) sitting at the heart of his approach, Keith leads the way in demonstrating what ‘good’ looks like when providing advice. 35 years’ experience and insight continues to help us shape client propositions appropriate in an increasingly demanding world.

A strong family man and life-long Liverpool fan, Keith is happiest when spending time with his children & grandchildren (and the Reds are top of the league!).
